St Mary's with a 13th century stone screen and a grand 15th century tower.
The church spire catches the eye from far off. It is a leaded spire added in the 18th century to the square tower built 400 years earlier. Perhaps there was a good array of craftsmen here at that time or the church was exceptionally well-loved, for there is a wealth of carving in stone and wood both inside and out. The appointments of the interior are rare. A 14th century chancel screen of stone still shows the masons marks, a tiny thread that seems to link the past more closely to the present. There is a more modern reredos screen, beautifuly carved and an alms pillar which, with the elaborate font cover, seems to date from the Tudor period.
